Default Is it true B20 a/c mount uses D-series compressor?

I'm swapping in a 97 B18B into my 98 hatch soon. I got an a/c compressor with it but I'd rather not discharge/recharge my system. I read somewhere that a CRV engine mount/ ac bracket (which obviously fits B-blocks) does fit the stock Civic compressor...can anyone verify this before I waste money on one?

d series ac compressors will bolt up to a bseries bracket at only 3 of the 4 bolt holes. 3 is enough to hold it on and keep it aligned

you need the del sol B series bracket to bolt to a civic compressor. It starts with part number "p54"

CRV bracket needs an integra compressor.

when we put a 2000 B16 into my friends hatch, we could only get 1 or 2 bolts in just to hold it on til we got the B-series compressor, but it didn't line up either. maybe we just picked the wrong ones or something...

That makes more sense to me, wasn't sure how the little D-compressor would handle cooling the larger CRV interior down to the notoriously frigid temps Honda is known for.

I have read post on this site where people state that a 97 crv bracket is the same as the P54 with a different part number

Right on, that's some good news...still not sure what route to take (probably whatever's cheapest) but good to know I have the options.

All 4 bolts work with the P7J bracket and the D series compressor. The "P7J" CRV ac bracket will fit if you do not have power steering. If you have power steering the P7J will not fit since it's taller than the P54 and hits the power steering pump bracket. I found this out this weekend.

Right on, I am removing p/s anyways, and the CRV bracket at the dealer is almost half what the P54 one costs...

Here is the part number for the correct crv bracket.

38930-P7J-000 CRV Bracket

and it clears the ps pump fine if you are using a b18c b18c1 b20z b20b and a b18b block, due to the extra 7mm of deck height.

The 96-97 del sols and 99-00 civic si's came with b16's (duh), but retained the same d-series ac system. Those brackets, which go for ~$105 new, bolt right up to a b-series block, a d-series compressor, and the civic lower mount.

The 99-00 si's use a P30 bracket which used a different compressor than the d series motor . I just swapped a 99 B16a2 into 99 dx hatch. The stock P30 si bracket doesn't bolt up to the d series compressor. The P7J doesn't fit on a B16A2 swapped car that has power steering because of the deck height as stated above. The P54 is a guranteed fit every time but costs more than the P7J. If you don't have power steering go with the P7J.

that's interesting, cause a quick parts search at autozone shows the 94 Del Sol SI, VTEC, and 99 civic SI all using the same compressor.

I just purchased a P7J for my B18C swap... I had panned to do without a/c, but it's been two weeks since the swap, and I cant handle the heat.

Well I do know for a fact that when we put a 99 B16 in a 98 hatch, the compressor did NOT fit the bracket, we had to get an B-series compressor.
I trust the dealer parts list over AutoZone though! Can't beat hands-on experience either.

1997 CRV brackets work perfectly with D-series AC compressors.

I have one on my daily driver VX w/ ITR swap and AC.
