Default integra problem, can civic ppl help out alittle too.. since teg are similar to civics

1)Recap- 1995 AUTO LS, brake squeak alittle when brake, doesn't happen all the time.
COMMENTS given by HT members: brake pad wearing out.
2)Lost brake pressure when having foot on brake, so sometimes car moves alittle bit. Only happened one night, eversince that night brake pressure is fine. but still squeaks
COMMENTS given by HT memebers: Master cylinder not working correctly, Air inside, Need to bleed the brake lines.
3) and lastly, Today, THIS IS THE WEIRDEST, when I leave my foot on the brake pedal for a little while, the parking lights come on( dash lights, clock lights, signal lights, temperature panal lights, they ALL come on, but the headlights didn't come on). Once I take my foot off the pedal ALL lights turn off, Driving is normal. Then if I tap my foot on the brake pedal, ALL lights are on again. If I Let go, and all lights are off. This also happens when my car is parked when I stepped on the brake.
WHAT's wrong with my car? I will bring it back to Acura on monday, but want some input first, So I'll know how to explain things to them.

1. sounds right
2. sounds right
3. electrical problem, probably not the ECU, could be at the fuse box.

1. correct, sounds like pads are wearing out
2 could be low fluid or pads wearing out
3. you probably have an incorrect tail light bulb.

#1- aftermarket pads and/or rust can cause this.
#2- Most likely a master cylinder leaking- if the pedal drops occasionally get a new honda one.
#3- Probably a brake bulb problem- the filaments inside can short together causing all parking lights to come on when brakes are applied- remove and check all brake bulb filaments and be sure the bulbs are installed correctly.

If there was air in the lines- your pedal would feel consistently low or spongy.

Worn out pads that are into the wear indicator make a consistent squeal until the indicator breaks off- then they are quiet again. Thin pads also tend to squeak often. Aftermarket pads (most of them) are irritatingly noisy and squeak more when cold.

Did you check your bulbs yet??

hey, what do you mean that a brake bulb problem? I haven't checked the bulbs, I will first thing tomorrow. I only have brake bulbs(double filaments) in the tail lights. I guess the signal bulbs(doulbe filaments) in the front wouldn't have caused the problme I stated, would they? What do the brake bulbs in the rear have to do with things lighting up inside the car? like the clock, temp panals when I apply the brake?.. EVEN the Auto shift (D4,D3,N,R,D@) all those light up too when I applied brake. hmmmmm?????

well, the 2 filament bulbs have a brake light and tail light filaments. When you turn on your head lights- the tail light filament is lit- if the brake filament is touching the tail light filament- when you hit the brakes, the tail light circuit feeds voltage to all of the other lights that would normally come on with your head lights.

fixhondas, I'll keep you posted tomorrow after I changed the bulbs in the rear.

thanks alot. BUt I will definitely bring my car back to Acura to have them look at my master cylinder and the brake pads. My warranty still cover the M.cylinder if it's indeed whats causing the squeaking problme or losing brake pressure.

problem number 3 solved. one of the brake bulbs in the rear is not a 1157, it's something else, like 9496? double fila or something, replaced it and lights don't turn on no more. But the pressure loss on brake is still there.

thanks, everyone.

The pressure loss is 9 times out of 10, the master cylinder. I had the same problem. I would stop at a light and my car would start to roll slightly. Then, I would pump the brakes and the pressure would return. I replaced my MC and the problem was fixed. Hope this helps.
