Default old school bike

does anyone have experience on old, circa 1970, honda trail bikes. i cannot seem to get mine to not eat sparkplugs like me and cookies...

i have tried adjusting the the screws on the carb, idle and mixture i think, with no success.

frankly i keep the tools and hardware to change the plug under my seat.

the bike is a 1970 CT70

thanks

Sounds like you're detonating. Higher octane maybe? Retard timing? I dunno.
