oh my god i can hear vtec at idle

Default oh my god i can hear vtec at idle

yeah well like is said, after my alternator install in my 95 civic coupe, whenever i start the car the rpm needle shoots to 6k and stays there. i have no idea whats wrong so someone try to help me.

your tach is at 6k, or the engine?

check the obvious stuff. like your throttle cable and make sure the throttle body is not open. check vacuum leaks, etc..

yah it sits at 6k. well this morning at 7 o clock my dad was messing with it and he loosened the ground cable and then started it and it started fine. i was like WTF??? well anyways its running good now so thanks for chimming in.

Hmmmms.... Last time I heard, Vtec won't actually activate unless the car is actually being driven. Can't Just sit there and rev and hit vtec.

Yeah.... I think he's right because doesn't uberdata have an option to allow vtec below 20mph? ...Which I take to mean that vtec on a stock honda cannot engage under 20mph.

true that. yeah vtec doesnt engage unless you're running higher than 20 mph. i just made the vtec at idle thingy because that would get peoples attention. umm...bout the donky avatars, they're kind of like a default avatar you can use instead of the trial user one. i wish i could get vtec at idle. damn...its just not happening. and dude, you're joking about the VTECH thing right?? because its vtec....lolz. Donkey mania yo.

i already did. the problem was solved. i dont know how but my dad was messing with the grounding wires and it idles where its supposed to be now.
