another electronic problem...or something else?
ok i asked about my alternator problem about 2 weeks ago and now i swapped it ou t for a junkyard one. anyways now that i have it on when i try to start the car it revs to 6k rpms. i think i might have knocked something loose but anyways let me know what you guys think.
it revs really high and just stays there. my foot isnt on the pedal either. maybe a pinched vacuum line or something?? i dont know...i need some help...lolz. might be a stuck open throttle bodY??

i'm confused as well...does it rev up on its own to 6k on startup or when you step on the gas, the motor rev at 6k rpm limit?

ok i have a 95 honda civic ex. i just replaced the alternator because it gave out on me. i installed it today and when i try to start the motor, it doesnt idle at 500 rpms, instead it shoots up to 6000 rpms by its self and stays there. i have no idea what is going on and i've been working on it for two hours trying to figure whats wrong.
