Default Question concerning Body Welding.

This doesn't exactly pertain to hondas, but i dont know of anyplace else to ask.

I have a 1970 ford bronco that im in the middle of restoring and it needs some new panels in the cabin rewelded. I was wondering if stick welding would be sufficient for this or am i going to need something a bit more ?

The floorboard is no thicker then a light sheet metal and is just plain steel.

Practice on some stuff the same thickness that you'll be welding to get the amps set correct so you don't blow through, but as long as you're using the right filler rod, i don't see a problem.

Be careful not to get the temps too high or it will warp. One good technique for beginners is to space the welds out all the way around the part and slowly fill them in as you circle around (hope that makes sense). As you make each run around the part, fill in half way between the last welds.
