Launch RPM on Slicks: peak torque or horsepower

Set-up:
'98 Integra GSR (no weight reduction)
Supercharged
LSD
AGX shocks
Motor Mount Inserts
23 x 7.5 x 15 slicks
While analyzing a old dyno sheet, I noticed my car's horsepower is still climbing at 8500 rpms, but the torque peaks from about 5252 to 6k. After 6k the torque starts dropping from 165tq at 6k to 150tq at 8k.
While launching I usually rev my car to 6500 rpms. I get some slight wheelspin off the line and then the slicks bite. When they bite my tires chirp, the rpms fall to about 6k and I'm off. This usually nets me consistant 1.8 60fts.....high 1.8's.
I'm not entirely happy with only pulling high 1.8's though. While researching the archives, I usually come across people who were told to launch higher: 7.5k - 8.2k. I've tried launching at higher RPMS in previous outtings and I just seemed to spin, but that may be because I wasn't heating the slicks up properly or maybe I need to step up the width of my tire.
Here are my questions:
Does it make sense for me to launch as high as +7500 rpms even though my torque seems to be taking a dive?
Will the climbing horsepower curve do more for me then the torque?
I know I should just head to a track and report back with my results, but track time is hard to come by in my area. Closest tracks are 2hrs from me and events/ street legal testing are usually months apart and overcrowded. So I'm just curious on some thoughts of others during the wait time between races.
Thanks.

I launch at 8000rpm it spins all of 1st but catchs traction when I shift 2nd. I run 1.58-1.63 60fts all day.. But I have a light car...

That is damn impressive.
I'd be happy to cut a high 1.79 or low 1.8. Quick question though, are you modulating the throttle position to keep your RPMs around 8k during 1st gear? Reason I ask is because the last time I tried launching near that high...it seemed like my slicks didn't grab at all. The RPM's were climbing so fast, it felt like I instantly shot up to the rev limiter, set around 9.2k.

Old thread that shows an average time for me:

Sorry, I don't have many timeslips to post because my old 1/4 mile track closed. Last time I drove 2 hours to my next nearest 1/4 track, I got turned away because of the overcrowded racer attendance.
I've mostly been stuck racing the 1/8 mile. I wouldn't mind posting those slips if you wanted to see them but the 60ft times seem to be inaccurate or all together missing from the slips. Once it said I hit a 1.64 (60ft) 8.6 (1/8)...yeah right. But the times usually hover around 1.9 (60ft) 8.5 (1/8) or 8.6 (1/8) at 79-80mph which seems about right.
