AEBS manifold throttle bracket
Hey,
I have an AEBS intake manifold. I have no throttle cable bracket! I have the stock 91 HB throttle cable. I'm about to install a NEW 91 or 92 (I forgot which I bought) throttle cable.
Which model throttle cable bracket should I buy? civic or integra... While I'm asking, does any one have one (I'll post in classifieds once I find out which to ask for
)
Thanks,
Keith P

Unfortunately I do not have time to reverse engineer one. I have to have this car running ASAP, and I only have a couple of hours a week to work on the car (very odd situation, don't ask
). It would make more sense to order the correct part so I can spend more of my valuable time with other aspects of my setup.

I have this manifold on my b16 and was able to reused the throttle bracket. Not sure why some people have issues with this. The only issue I had was it clearing the IAT sensor. I took a dremel to the bracket, mounted the sensor upside down and everything works fine.
I had to make my bracket as well. Literally took 5 minutes. I piece of aluminum, 4 bolts, 2 nuts, OE bracket and a drill is all you need (drimmel will help also.) I used a LS throttle cable and had too much slack in it. Also, you may have to shave down the manifold tip to clear the alternator bracket

I switched to an aftermarket fuel rail to fit the IAT. I tossed my old manifold w/o fully stripping it
I guess I will make this item too. I have a piece of titanium angle iron I've been dying to use.. this may be a good opportunity!
Check out this bracket... $19

you'll need to keep the throttle cable, throttle bracket, and intake manifold from the same car.
its the distance from the bracket to the tb that is important, and so all three pieces need to match or come really close to matching.
and i'm guessing the AEBS manifold is modeled for integras, probably ITRs.

Is there an easy way to figure out which bracket will be correct for this setup. what is every one else using?

The bracket I made looks just like that, minus all the holes. Mine is aluminum, I figured all the holes would make it more prone to bend under pressure. Didn't cost me anything, just about 5 minutes

The bracket shown is a Type R bracket.. the piece with the holes is part of the manifold..
Damnit, didn't any one use an OEM bracket??

Yes im sure people used oem brackets all the time. What u can do is, match the cable to whatever bracket you are gonna use (I think eggman already pointed this out). For example, if u use a type r bracket, use a type r cable. If u wanna retain the D series SI cable, you will most likely have to make a bracket. You need to find out what cable u bought already.
I have a 90-91 Teg throttle cable pt # 17910-sk7-a03. So I need the bracket from that car? or will it fit some other gens too?

Well, the 91 bracket and 91 cable combo does not fit
The holes in the bracket are spaced too far apart, and the the bracket leaves too much slack in the cable.. any one know which bracket I should order next?

You can use your stock cable, just make a bracket that will allow you to relocate the OE bracket closer to the throttle body. It is very easy. I initially bought the LS throttle cable and made a brcket to place it further away, but upon install I realized that if I just flipped the custo bracket over and moved the OE bracket closer to the TB I could still use my OE cable. Works perfectly. I made 3 more last week. Wish I had pics of my engine bay to show you
I have a skunk manifold, but it should be similar to the aebs. I am using a 90-91 integra throttle cable and a itr throttle cable bracket. Works great.

Yup, The bracket has to be pointed towards the drive side to take up the slack..

Well the one customer actually order that bracket from hcp, and it would not work either way, if you flipped it around it would not bolt up right. I just make my own and I usually tell customers I can make them.
