Default 50 series tire too big?

Do you guys think a 50 series tire is too big for a 15 slipstream? I know someone selling them and Im thinkin about gettin them. I would use these tires but when they need new ones i would get 45. If anyone has 50 series on slips can you post them. Thanks

That depends on what size tires your car normally takes, and what tire size you're considering. As a general rule, you want to keep the outer diameter of the tire size about the same as stock, and you don't want to use tires that are so wide that they will rub on your fender well liners. It has nothing to do with which wheel you're using.

What is the stock tire size on your car?

50 series are perfect.

45 would throw off ur speedo quite a bit probably, but yah it would help if we knew what kind of car you had.
Here's a pic of my 195/50/15 Toyo T1-S I just got.

You can't know whether either of those statements are true, unless you know the stock tire size and what kind of tread width we're talking about. (For example, on most of our cars, a 315/50-15 would NOT be so good, but a 215/45-16 might not throw off the speedo at all.)

the 50 is a percentage of the width of the tire. check the faq!

I got 205/50 on 15" Si wheels. The car is a 98 EX. Compared to tires I had before, the ride feels more cushioned when I hit bumps on the road.

50s means nothing!!! a 120/50 is a far thinner sidewall than a 300/50.

but even those are different. a 195/50 should fit no problem. my 205/50s rub a little at full lock or when going over speedbumps.

205/50/15 is TOO BIG unless your wheels is ATLEAST 7" wide

Alternatively, you can run 195/50/15s

negative, 205/50/15 can be used on 5.5-7.5 wheels.
