First sign of  for Speed Channel
Last year they broadcast 25 hours of Daytona LIVE! on "Speedvision", this year ....?
The speedvision TV schedule doesn't go past the end of January!
Anyone got a clue?

Finally now that I have it on my service, I read that NASCAR TV is going to be on Mon-Fri from 3pm to midnight. This is effective once Speed Channel is on the air.
Just when I really was getting into all the cool stuff on there (Karting, BTCC, Rally, Legends of Motorsport, etc), they go and do this.
You got nascar events on Fox, NBC, TNT, TNN, CBS (Winston truck), and probably a lot more. WTF. How many more freaking channels do you need?
Speedchannel gonna suck. I think I will drop my subscription in Feb.

I give them credit for making a pretty smart business move, but don't think it is smart to lose the race car driver viewer who wants to see all the races given equal amount of airtime
I have been thinking about this quite a bit recently....
Marketers and potential advertisers probably have a pretty good handle on what comprises the Nascar viewer demographic. I won't comment, as it would likely be too stereotypical. Anyway... my point is, they know (or at least think they know) who's watching and can sell it accordingly.
I really don't think anyone knows who watches Formula 1, WRC, BTCC, etc... Each could have it's own demographic for that matter. Throw in bobsledding {don't get me started}, My Classic Car, and a ton of Ronco infomercials and you have a really broad programming selection. If they haven't done adequate market analysis (maybe they have??) then they don't know who to try to sell to. Even if you do, it's admittedly a hard sell to attract volume advertising to what most will see as obscure events....
I mean, the number of people who want to see boat drag racing just isn't that large.

It was largely infomercialvision anyway. Then my cable co. put it on digital, and I have been adjusting to life without it ever since. You know what? Life without watching any tv at all is really not that bad....
I am really getting caught up on my reading, the house is clean, the garage organized, and the car has never run better

FOX put a mole in SV (Jim L) and subverted all motorsports fans by continual lying about thier true intentions for $peedChannel.

Want to know why they did it ->
This is an orginial graphic from the old sv-oln-affiliates website, now off-line.
It was the only way FOX could hope to recoup the wasted $400million per year they will spend over the next 5 years on the stupid NASCAR broadcast rights.
