Im selling my EE8
I bought it less than a year ago, and im deeply in love, but everytime I want to pour money into it, im reminded its all for nothing since I cannot bring it back to the states with me.
If anyone in the Amsterdam/Belgium/Germany area is interested, H-T members will get first dibs.
PM or email for info.
Car is mint, and drives like a dream. New tires (on the way), dizzy, front suspension parts (just came in today), vtec seals, cap/rotor.
I know this isnt the for sale forum, but no one from other countries check the H-T for sale forum for cars sold in Europe. The group here has an interest in this body style, so im hoping someone will see it.
Here she is next to my buddy's evo

And again on a random road in Germany

Ill be reposting this info in the for sale section, and on hondapower.de if anyone is interested.

Ive posted that topic in the GDD forum for the past 2 weeks, with no luck.
Ive researched with DOT/EPA yadda yadda and been quoted $10,000 for my "conversion" to USDM spec.
Ive asked here, on other forums and im at a loss for anyone who can help. Short of completely taking the car apart and shipping it home in crates, there is no other choice.
I can either A) Part it out completely, and hope to not take a loss, or B) Leave it as is and hope to preserve the integrity of the car.
Unless of course you have any ideas?

um, ship it over and swap vins...
thats what i would do...its lhd so its a lot easier...
if it was Celestrial blue, i would buy it from you and have it shipped over here...

that blows.
But you might be able to bring it to the states. An old buddy of mine was stationed in Germany back when he was in the army... 1989ish. Well bottom line, he bought an 89 hatch brand new in germany and he took it home with him when he returned to the states. To my knowledge he still drives it today. There's gotta be some loop hole the military can help out with.

You sure you dont want a black one ?
How would i just ship it over though? They do checks here at the vehicle processing center, checking registration/vins/title stuff like that. Only thing i can think of is slipping the dude a couple hundred bucks to look the other way, but I dunno if that will work.
Then what happens at the dock on the recieving end? Do they check your vins and stuff there? Ive only used military orders to ship cars, and ive already got one vehicle (wifes family car) that is on orders, so this one has to be paid for out of pocket.
:/ Hmm, got me thinking again...

well i think if you take out the engine it is easier to ship over...if not just say you are going to be using it as an off-road or race only vehicle...

How would I remove the engine and ship it? Id have to tow it to the vehicle processing place, then they would have to somehow tow it onto the trailor, then onto a boat... Then repeat the process on the other side.
Id have to check with them, maybe ill do that tomorrow since its not a holiday, and see what their laws are regarding vehicles that do not have engines.
Hmm, might be an idea, if all i have to do is yank the engine, that would be no problem. But then again, I dont know the shipping laws concerning engines and such. Like if i would have to crate it, or whatever.
Ill call them again tomorrow. My car is jacked up in my garage atm, getting its new suspension parts installed and rotors turned. So she will be ok sitting in the dark while I discuss her demise
Keep giving me ideas, I dont want to lose this gem...

And with the engine out im sure you can get a few people to help push your engine to where it needs to go.

Unfortunately its > 25 miles to the vehicle processing place from my house
There arent tow services readily available like in the states, its a different world here

Ship it to Canada, and have it legalized there. You can legalize stuff pretty easily as long as it's at least 15 years old.
It's VERY easy to legalize a Canadian car in the states

i just got back from amsterdam last thursday. it was so amazing, i wish i could live there. out of courisoty where do you live? and how much are you asking for the car in euro?
You can ship that to the US for like $2700US for a 20' container. Search in your area for a shipper. It should be very possible and then when it gets here sit on it for a bit and then slowly go through the regestration process.

i hope you can stick it out and get it over here, or man, just part it all up in boxes and boxes, and get it over here, try the non motor thing
i have importers (from japan) that aren't authorized to bring over whole cars, but w/out motors, they've slid thru
a ef hatch, two skylines, and a levin

Seriously, look into registering it in Canada. It's super easy to get Canadian cars registered in the US, and it's supposidly cake to get 15 year old Jap/Euro cars registered there.

it is harder than you think...i just tried to get a 91 CRX SE here from canada, and you cant...if a car is made after 89 it is manditory that it has airbags...and since the crx doesnt come with airbags it can not be legally imported...

The expensive part of that is the passive restraint system that I would need installed also.
Not to mention reinforced doors, different glass, diff firewall, side mirrors...etc
The list is long and $$$
