what should i do to prepare my transmission for L.S.D.
now i'm really new to anything transmission wise so imma prolly have my friends father do it for me ... but what i am asking is .. i have heard of alot of things failing after installing an l.s.d. becuz certain things were nto done as they should have been ... what i woudl like to knwo is ... i have a reletively stock ls in my hatch and im gonna put l.s.d. in it ... what else should i do so that i dont encounter any problems in the forseeable future..... thanks
i would get new diff bearings and new axle seals( the part on your tranny where the axles go in those two seals.) That will prob cost you about 100 some dollars. Also get a new throw out bearing and how many miles are on your clutch?
If you have all this out you might as well replace it. No sence in doing work twice.
I see you are located in DE. Dturbocivic is prob an 1.5 hours from de. He is great at installing lsd's. He installed my type r lsd and my quaife.

Sweet man thanks alot ... hipefully i will be getting this **** together in a few weeks. i know lsd is kinda (almost might as well be) required for any kinda road racing or track racing ... and i know from friends it helps at the drag strip to ... its a win win situation
If it is a S1 or a YS1 cable tranny you have to shave off some fins inside the case just to make the LSD fit in there. If it is PM me and I'll get some pictures of the case mod. I did mine last weekend.
damn! and I thought that I was doing some ghetto ****, I did this to mine 2 days ago. but my **** dont work anyways .any site that gives detail assembly of the transmission gears and syncros?
