OT: What do you guys think of this new track's club fees?

I know a lot of you guys get more track time than myself.
Anyway, there's a new track that was built about 15 miles south of Omaha called Mid-America Motorplex. It looks to be a very 'fast and furious' course.

They're going to have *Club* racing nights for specific types of cars. They will have a 4N Night for import guys like ourselves. I need to get your feelings on the rates. I feel they're a bit high. Since 4N Night is going to be on Mondays...what else is going on that we have to pay so much?? It says you can get tracktime from 3pm-dark. The membership looks to be good for about 6 months (since I checked out the calendar). One thing I'm pretty unsure about is the $145 ONE TIME Required Course Education BS fee IMO. I've been to 2 different HPCCC events myself and don't really understand why some of us need to pay for that. Also, I think if rates don't go down a little...they really won't have a very good turnout (especially being Mon nights).

Your thoughts/comments are appreciated.

Wow.....looks really neat from the aerial view! Looks like it's nice and wide open..... and lots of straightaways! I bet this will be a fast course!

I could swear I've seen almost the same layout before somewhere...
On the new track club fees, it sounds like a good idea if you live within an hour of the track. Getting in some practice every week will help your skills improve quickly. Also why only start at 2:00 pm. Overall, it is a good idea as long as you get multiple sessions per day and it isn't too crowded.

It does seem to look pretty similar to that course.
There are NO elevation changes @ MAM though. Is it the same with Putnam?
I checked out the event calendar and it adds up to 31 Monday nights for this *annual membership*. Hmm...
I'm just skeptical to buy into this club.
I'd really like to, but I almost think it would be more cost efficient for me to just continue to run HPCCC 2 day weekend events (in the $150-$200 range).
More thoughts?

Elevation changes at Putnam Park are minimal. There are a few dips here and there, but nothing like Laguna Seca or Lime Rock. Putnam Park is a good place to push and push until you find the limit of your car and then some. The MAM track looks like it will be very similiar.
Is it worth the club fees or not will depend on how many track days you will be able to attend in a year. If not many, then it would be better to run HPCCC as you said, but if you will be able to go out every week for a few sessions then it would be cheaper in the long run to join the club.
It's all about actual track time you get, so if you calculate the cost per hour, you can figure out which is a better route for you. Practicing every week will be much better than just every other month, although I think it is better to run in different tracks, so you learn to adjust to different situations rather than get used to just one track.

So 31 days worth of track time....say you get an avg of 1 hr on track. When was the last time you did a track event and got 31 hrs!? How much track time do you get at a wkend event? Four hrs avg? If the location and schedule is right, I can't see passing that up. New open track.....
