Default First time at the track

hey guys its nice to be back on honda-tech. I've been without my car for about 5 months , well anyways i just swapped in a b18b into my 96 coupe, im gutted with no a/c or p/s i put the pig on the scale before i ran and it came out to 2100 lbs ,its pretty much stock all i had was an AEM short ram hasport mounts and b&m short shifter , i ran open header because i did not have time to put my exhaust on before my friends left for the track but i wanna go back with the exhuast (test pipe and rs*r gtII) and see if that will help my time. Anyways here are the times.
first time at the track and 2nd day with the motor. condiions where pretty bad it was hot and very damp.

lower the pressure in the tires and try feathering the gas to get your 60' down

other than that they look like good numbers

Those numbers look really good for what you got. Although you red lighted twice

All i can is Practice makes perfect. You might be able to get low 15s instead of mids.

Also, 2100? DX?

yeah like the others said lower tire pressure and dont straight drop the clutch and youll be able to get those 60' times down a few tenths. that should bring you down into the low 15's. nice times

those times look pretty good for an LS motor with just a shortram. lower the 60' and you'll be seeing really really low 15s, maybe even high 14s. are u running the LS tranny too?

nice numbers, with better conditions and a faster 60 time you should be in the real low 15s maybe even high 14s

Yeah, I'd say the scale was off. There's no way your car can evev be remotely street-legal or safe if your 96 coupe weighs in at 2100 lbs. That's lighter than most EG hatches.

Also, those are good times.

...I need to learn how to drive, it seems.

I know englishtown uses .000 tree now. They used to use .500 but I think they were having trouble with it. And yes mid 15 isn't too bad for your setup. I think you'll be able to get it a lil lower with the exhaust on and lower 60's but I wouldn't expect 14s or anything.

well im impressed with those #s considering all was done with an ls tranny. consider a tranny swap... gsr or even a b16. you'll like the results.

Im just going to stick with the ls tranny because im going boost, as for the scale i dont think its off, I removed every piece of sound detning tar out ,i used dry ice a hammer and a chisle.as for the parts the dry ice would not stay on i used a torchand it peels right off ,not messy.all carpet and thick heavy padding under the front seat carpets and upder the pedals out.every a/c part , hoses, fans, compressor, lines and the three big boxes and filters under the dash out,no carpets,no rear seat belts, no rear panels. not to mention complete p/s parts ,pump and bracket. no cruise control, no windshield washer hoses and tank, no passenger side air bag (replaced with tray). carbon fiber hood, skunk 2 lug nuts which 4 skunk2 lug nuts weigh about the same as one oem lug nut. And when i weighed my car i had no exhuast on it. bu i think hats pretty much it , of and i also sanded the whole interior of the car with nothing in it and painted it flat black and it looks great as soon as i can get my friends camera i will post pics.

If you want to help your time, sell the LS engine and get ur EX engine back and turbocharge it. The money spent on the LS swap you could of spent turbocharging ur EX. But nice times anyways.

hey pete... you forgot to mention the thick pad like thing we took out from against the fire wall, that thing is heavy as hell...

a/c wise, we pulled the condenser, bracket, evaporator, all lines, and some more **** from under the dash

he weighed 2300 before major weight redux with D16, now 2100 after major weight redux with new b18

and from what i said and everyone else, its going to take me to get it down to low 15s
