Default 98 accord will jumpstart but not start on its own!

Hi everyone, new user but been reading the forums for a long time. Good stuff...

I have a 98 Accord 4-cyl, 130k miles that will not start. When i turn the key, it won't start. No sounds, no nothing. I've just replaced the alternator and battery and also tested them and they are fine. I can even jump start the car but it just will not start on its own after that. I don't get headlights or wipers when the car is off. I forgot to check after i jumped it.

Seems like there's enough juice to power the door and roof lights and clock when the car is off but when I try to start the car, all the electronics die. Since it can jump start, i'm not sure what the real problem could be. Anyone have any insight to this problem? I'm really confused. Thanks.

Chances are you have a bad ground from the battery. My friend's car did this for a while, and we tried everything....and it turned out to be the ground wire....just make sure you've got a good connection and if not, then re-ground it and try again.

Was this car under the ignition switch recall?

Sounds like an electrical problem to me.
