Thanks for the bump. It's not the knock sensor, that one is above the filter. This is about an inch to the left (if looking at it from the firewall).

 

If its the lil sensor with 1 wire going to it then its the oil pressure switch

 

Right now it just looks like a little shine nubby nail sticking out of the block like some of it is missing. How much are these? I already ordered a new knock sensor... Atleast the motor is pristine minus some broken sensors.

 

Does it look like the bad boy on the left? Oil pressure sender. Honestly you dont really need that, get a oil pressure gauge instead.

 

If it looks like a shiny nail looking, nipple deal, then it is your oil pressure. the plug that goes over it looks like a boot, with a round metal ring in the middle that plugs over the shiny nail. So its not physically broken, its suppose to look like that just a shiny nipple, so don't go out buying another one.

 

my knock sensor looks the same... it just has a blue plastic cover around it... that one looks like its missing it

 

It's your oil pressure switch. It's just for the oil pressure "oh ****" light. VTEC and everything will still work with it not being connected. I ran like this for a couple of days. No CELs or anything

 

Y'all got me thinking, especially Luserkid, can I just remove it and get an oil pressure gauge and sender to fit there? Do I use a new sending unit? Do they come with the gauge?

 

Aftermarket gauges should come with their own sending unit. Autometers for example. The one I have comes with an electronic sensor that you have to screw into that location (or do as I did and get an adapter fitting from tunertoys.com). I'm about 90% sure that the threads on the aftermarket sending units are NPT threads and the ones in the block are some other kind. So it's not just a plug an play thing. Now if you get an adapter fitting from tunertoys ($20 or so) you can run your stock sensor, aftermarket gauge, and even have an extra port on there to run a feed line to a turbo if you ever get one.
Or you also have the ever so famous oil filter adapter plate from golden eagle. Either one will work fine for you.
Just remember that aftermarket sending units are NPT threwad and will NOT screw into the block. You can try "making your own threads" with the fitting but I wouldn't recommend it.

 

Yeah and never put the aftemarket sender dircetly on you block, the extra weight will crack it and cause major damage
