Default SRS light on RSX

My SRS light stays on in my '02 base RSX, its not the fuse, and i dont know what else it could be, because i can obviously tell that my airbags havent deployed. Gimme some of your ideas on what it could be.

This is very strange. I have the 2005 RSX and the day I drove it off of the lot, the passenger side airbag light was on. I took it back to the dealer and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot it turned off. I've only seen the light once since then... sorry... I just had to share.

was there someone in the pass seat? If so, it's normal. the airbag turns off depending on the passengers position...

is the "red" srs light constantly on? if so, you can try to reset it to see whether it helps. you can also try to check all the connectors to make sure they are not loose.

Similar thing happened to me in my 05 RSX Type S. I started it up one day and the SRS light didnt turn off. I just turned the car off, started it again and it went away. Is the RSX known for this???

When it happened to me, there was indeed someone in the passenger seat. Strange thing was, as soon as pulled into the parking space, and pulled it out of gear, it turned off. (shrug) Dunno. Quite strange.

Yup if the passanger is leaning to the right or the driver is leaning to the left for a certain period of time the air bag disables itself.. My SRS light is on as well but its because I replaced my factory steering wheel....OH welll..

there are two lights related to the Supplementary Restraint System. do not confuse the two.

the red "SRS" light incidcates a problem with the airbag system. if your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. be forewarned, they will give u the shpiel about not placing electronic devices around the passenger seat.

the yellow "side airbag off" turns on when the sensors detect that an object is in the deployment path of the passenger side airbag. typically this is your passenger leaning on the door handle. if the side airbag were to deploy while your passenger is seated like this, they would suffer a broken arm, at the very least.
