CRX a sports car?
Well the Si does stand for "Sports Injected", and insurance places call it a sports car mostly because it's a 2 door 2 seater.

the reason I ask this question is b/c theres a guy telling me this
"name one sports car that is FWD. I am talking about stock cars, cuz a CRX is not a sports car, no matter how much you want it to be."
I just wasn't to sure. I thought the crx was honda's first "sports car"

that comes down to nitpicking honestly
me i think you can have fun cars that are FF and all
but a real sports car is RWD only or MR
but its nitpicking i'd say 95% ppl hear will call the ITR a sports car

I would call the ITR a sporty car, but not a true sports car.

I thought it was Sport Injected because the original Si concept was civics with a fuel injection based engine rather than the partial or full carburetor. Never saw any proof of this and yours makes just as much sense, anyone else know?
It probably said it in the brochures.

Oops I made a mistake Si stands for Sports Injected not inspired. But no not sequential injection.

Si stands for Sport Injection.
not sure if i would call it a sports car... but in Si trim it sure is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. I've driven my friends 91 Trans Am GTA which most would call a "sports car" and it was not near as fun to drive as the CRX.

For it's time I think it was a "Sports Car". Most cars in the '80s were under 150hp in some cases under 100hp so the technology and concept of CRX could be considered as sports car, but not in todays terms.
Was the MKI MR2 a sports car?
The 2nd gen CRX had 2+2 seating in other markets...The press in that time called it the "entry-level sports car"
But I dont see it as in the same league as the MKI MR2 or Fiat whatever... Its better... more practical (and yes, faster) It's more like an OMNI GLH or Corolla GT to me... just a sporty version... the HF wasnt a sports car.

i would deffinetly consider the prelude a sports car.. and that is front drive.. what about the mitsu eclipse.. thats also front drive and a sports car if you ask me. and the toyota celica.. whoever said there are no front drive sports cars.. they are just in denial. yeah they dont have like 400hp stock.. but..
