A buddy of mine has a 1992 Honda Accord and about a month ago he had to replace the radiator and he came over to my house and asked me why the radiator fan cuts on when he turns the car off and stays on for a while and when he turns the key on the fan cuts off. Any help or ideas to what it could be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

The fans are supposed to come on after you shut off the car because the lack of coolant flow will cause the engine temp to temporarily rise. The fan will turn off when you turn the key to on to give full power to the starter for cranking.
