Need some help on why my b16 is failing NOx readings

 

did you take your EGR valve off? if so put it back on and you should pass

 

i was having the same problem, but i found a way around it. if i couldn't have done what i did, i was gonna swap out my platinum plugs for a step colder non-platinum plugs and try it again. if you don't know, high NOx is usually due to high cylinder temps. now, this can either be running too lean, your cat being old and not cleaning the exhaust well enough, or the NOx limit for your car (if you have a swap) is lower than the normal NOx limit for the b16. also, if you haven't changed your oil recently, try that too.

 

nox can also be caused by carbon on pistons. from hot spots. top engine cleaner or seafoam will help it also.
