I have a 95 civic dx and i plan on putting a z6 vtec into the chasis. I plan on getting a P28 ecu and complete engine harness. Alos my cluster has no tach. What would i have to get to make a p28, vtec harness, and non tach cluster work?

 

this should help https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=635580 as far as the cluster you can get one that has a tach like out of an ex and it will plug and play or if your a jdm lover get the jdm eg6 one also plug and play.

 

you can make it yourself. vtec needs 3 wires. 1 from vtec soleniod for ecu (a4), 1 to ground near the thermostat housing. the other from the vtec pressure switch to ecu (d6). as for the tach wire it located on the driver side strut tower blue wire. or you can get an ex,vx gauge cluster that have stock tach. it's plug and play. search if you need more info.

 

One last question, the dx insturment cluster harness in my dx has a connector with a cap over it. Is that for the rpm tach? Could i keep my stock dx cluster harness and just plug in an ex cluster into that connector
