ok, so I've been riding a season, and have been curious about getting onto the track, I did a search and couldn't find anything...

what goes into getting on the track for open track days?

where are the closest tracks to the 12550 area code (Newburgh)?

I read the thread on track days and why they are more expensive the 1st time and so on and so forth - but who in my area actually goes to the track?

can you just go to open track days and wait your turn? whats the deal?!? ehhh?

btw - im going up to albany tomrrow to get my bike if anyone in the albany/newburgh area wants to ride (56* and sunny tomorrow)

You'll need to do the ART Basic course because it's required for all riders that have never been on a racetrack anywhere before.

It costs more then the usual track day but you'll only need to do it once then you can start doing normal track days

 

STT (www.sportbikertracktime.com) is also a good org to take your first track day with. They have great control riders and I hear it is like taking a race class minus the high price. I am looking to go with them to BeavRun at some point. Good luck with track riding...you will have a lot of fun in a much safer environment.
