boosted zohc zc or mini me?
i want to go turbo but was wondering should i turbo the sohc zc as is or slap on my d16y8 head on it and go all motor but the compression i heard is gonna be pretty high. recommendations? which will run better?
I am told the ZCs are good with boost. My vote goes for the turbo. If you really wanted to do a mini-me, you shoulda kept your original engine and done it to that.
Turbo has far more potential but on the same token it has far more potential to **** up your engine. I still say turbo though. How often do you get to make cool sounds come from your EF as opposed to those annoying creeks and rattles that all EFs make.
speaking from someone who owns one i would say go dohc zc tubo if you have the cash. I just got done with my rebuild and im waiting to break it in before i strap on my t3 super 60 on this beast. Im aiming for the 12.8 but 13's are cool with me. If you dont have much cash to spend to do it right(forged internals) then build a mini me with ls rods and zc pistons make it super high comp. And yes the z6 was proven to flow better stock than the y8. But the y8 manifold was better. So a z6 head with a y8 intake mani is the best for a mini
