Revised plan for my 91 DX
So Im still pretty new to the boards, but I read at least 20 a day
. I posted midweek about what I wanted to do to my rex, and now I need an opinion on my revised plan.
Forget turbo im going ALL MOTOR BABY
Swapping the stock d15b2 (I hope Im right this time and not sounding like a total douche...) for a z6.
What are all the possible things I can/should do to completely rebuild that thing including transmission and what nots.
Thanks for the help, ill post pictures soon of my car and then my journey through the local junkyard dubbed "Honda Heaven"

Did you want to do a factory rebuild? How crazy did you want to get with the Z6? There are always the bolt on things like a cam gear, cam, ignition, etc
You can do an aftermarket 'rebuild/upgrade'. Since you want an all motor car, you can put stronger rods in and higher compression pistons. As far as transmissions go, try to get a 90-91 Si transmission. It takes some fab work to get a hydraulic D-series transmission into an ef chassis. Plus, the Si transmission has shorter gears. A rebuild on a transmission, I have no idea about what to do with that. Maybe take it apart and get new gears and synchros? Maybe some cryo-treated gears? Don't know.
