last week a friend from another shop was down dyno'ing his civic, we were experiencing a problem with the dyno and called dynapac, and were told, if torque decreases,, and hub speed remains going linearly, you have clutch slippage. remember this is a dynapac, you will probably spin tires before you notice clutch slippage on the road since there is no tires to spin on this dyno. fast forward to today, my car on the dyno, same clutch. CM Stage 4 granted it has 9000 hard miles on it as did Dan's, same issue. torque falls off hub speed climbs normally. took my car off the dynapac, set up our TT 350 Z to make sure it wasnt a dyno issue, the car pulled fine. needless to say, after i get my axles replaced for the violent shaking caused by the clutch slipping, and the locking and unlocking of the dyno ( it was trying to compensate for the torque loss ) i am goin to give RPS a try. we have on in our TT 350 Z. well thats my o.o2 on clutch masters stage 4's. granted 9000 miles is a long way to go, but i think that it should have held a little longer. here is the setup if curious. sleeved 1.6 to 84mm, gsr cams, to4b, hondata s200b, 750cc/mins, all the good stuff. we put a known good map from a 1.8 into the ecu, it is a little fat but it feels nasty at 17 psi. as i get the clutch and axles replaced, ill post up a plot and hopefully a video. this is not a rant, just a disappointment. thats all. for those of you looking at CM, you may want to think it through. just my thoughts.

Actually I was running a Clutchmasters Stage 1 and flywheel on my old B16 setup. It ran nicely for over a year, but when I took everything apart after i spun a bearing in the motor, the clutch looked like it had 100k miles on it, and there was a nice groove in the flywheel from the rivets on the disc. No slipage though, but I still dont think it should wear that fast. I dont drive like a bat out of hell either, i drive fast, but no bangin gears, burnouts or **** like that. Anyone recommend a better clutch?

 

talking to JT from RPS, they have me sold on their extreme pressure plate and street disc with cyn-r-g flywheel.
