its the cam seal if up high and not the VC. if lower its the oilpump gasket.

The Accords with the F22b1 had a recall on an oil seal that would blow out. It's under that plastic cover. Not sure if this has anything to do with yours but I thought I'd throw it out there...

front balancer shaft oil seal.

there was a TSB about this, you have to intall a metal retainer clip that keeps the oil press from pushing the seal out.

if it dumps a **** load of oil while the car is runing its the balancer shaft oil seal.

Wurd, It's most likely the balance shaft seal if the cam seal is ok.

Btw: Chances are your timing belt and balance shaft are soaked with oil
so you will need to replace those as well.

Damn my 93 h22 has the same situation that has oil leakin and moisturing around the black cover where the seal is. Is it hard to replace that seal? becuz it looks to crowed to work in that area.. I'm still concern about the timing belt that might have oil on it and starts to crack to snap..

if its the front balance shaft seal its more like a faucet rather than a leak, usually.

This happened to my H23 as well. It was the front balance shaft seal. Just do the T-belt anyway. It never hurts. Good luck.

It's behind the lower timing belt cover. I'm sure some one can back me up with a diagram. I've gotta run.

guys if you do truely have a leaking balancer shaft seal, the only way that they leak is it pops the entire seal out. so you will be leaking a massive amount of oil.

litterly when i realized i had lost almost all my oil, i put 3 quarts in then started the car and with in 30 seconds there was about a quart on the ground. it will pore out of the timing belt cover right by the main pulley.

if you have a slower leak likely its the car seals, oil oil pump seal

You're gonna have to take off more than the cover if it's the oil pump seal.

well....its the case in damn near EVERY car that has the oil pump beiung crank driven which is quite a few now. maybe you should consider buying a car that is brand new so you dont have to worry about taking care of your car?

Definately don't trash the motor.

How many miles are on it?

It's probably not the oil pump seal anyway.

the mileage on my car just turned 200k recently. As I can see there are several oils around the seal outline of the black plastic cover.

yea lets just junk the whole motor because it has a bad seal, lol what a fantastic idea. Have you pulled the VC and checked the cam seals ?

Look around. Start from the top and work your way down.

ive got a similar leak, however it just mists the oil out. it appears to come out around the balancer shaft/ oil pump area but i cant pin point the location. i suppose i should pull the head and look around.

why not just pully the crank pulley and pull the lower timing cover before you pull the head ?
