Default Exedy clutch and fly installed, now strange humming....

shop installed a new exedy clutch and fly today in a buddy's 99 Si. its the stage one organic. anyway, clutch engages fine and car drives pretty good, but now theres a faint winding, humming noise that goes up and down in sync when reving the car(might also be described like a spiining disk). no noise at idle, but the humming starts and drops as if copying the sound of the engine revs.

he'll be bringing the car back to the shop, but it would be a good idea to hear if anyone else had a similar experience after a clutch and fly install. a friend had a bad ground in his ek once after installing a stereo, and the sound was kinda similar, but i dont think its electrical.

thanks guys.

it's the same with my friends eclipes, it's suppose to do that. if you read the paper instruction that came with the clutch, it will tell you in that paper also. i just installed my stage 1 organic clutch and it does the same thing.

i wasnt aware of this effect...thanks for bringing it to my attention. i listened to it again today and it is exactly as i described, sounds like a hissing or a spinning humming sound that coincides with engine revs.

one thing i forgot to mention is that the sound is more clear, evident right in front of the driver engine bay, which is strange since the clutch and fly are in front of the passenger.

great clutch tho nonetheless..it grabs really hard for a full race disc...the first few days had to get used to it...
