LS/Vtec, 3000 rpm idle, no vacuum leak!
what could it be? With my chipped p28 ecu, it idles at 2500 rpms, with my shipped p75, at 3000 rpms. It seems to run ALOT smoother on the p75. When you turn the engine off with the p28 in, it clanks, like the timings off...but the timing belt it on, I have it timed correctly. I'm almost, 99% positive its not a vacuum leak, I've checked and triple checked. its a steady idle.....
Check the throttle cable and check to make sure there isnt sludge in the throttle body stopping it from fully closing. It doesnt have to be open much for it to stay at 3Krpm.
new info again!
I've replaced the IAVC with one that I know works. Both have the same response. It seems that if I leave the IACV plugged in, it will idle at 3-3500 rpms, occasionally (every 5-10 seconds) will drop to 2500 and immediately go back up. not like a vacuum leak though, its different I think.
If I unplug it, it will idle at 1500 adn go up and down very quickly. If I give it gas and hold the rpms, it will bounce wherever the tach is. Also throws a CEL with the plug unplugged.
I have reset the ECU by leaving it unplugged from the car for like 10 mins.
More tips?

I am positive it's the Fast Idle under he throttle body if you have an obd1 throttle body. The valve came loose on mine the other day and it did the same thing. Screwed it back in and problem fixed.
thanks for the imput guys.
Yeah, checked the throttle cable, that's not it....
Also, I thought abotu the FITV, but here's the thing on that. My 92 integra had it on the intake manifold. That b16 manifold I have does not have a spot for it. So that means that it came on the throttle body. therefore...I dont' have one. But I've heard that on Skunk2 manis and AEBS manis there's no spot for the either.....is this true?
I'm pretty sure that if you "disable" or remove the FITV, nothing happens other than you have to let the car warm up a little on cold days before you drive it.
correct me if I'm wrong!!!

no man i think you got it wrong, what he's reffering to is this hunk a **** under the throttle body, if you take it off and shake it, it will sound like a maraka, its this thing under the tb that comes loose, you can take the plate off from the bottom with a phillips or like an 8mm, you will see in there at the end its a white round cap that screws in and it vibrates itself loose sometimes. that lets air in, 4 out of 5 times its that watchamacallit
problem fixed...it was a vacuum leak. duh. feel like an ***, but I pulled the intake manifold as a last resort, and found traces of the old gasket....I guess I didnt' clean it well enough. one razor blade and a spare gasket I had and BAM. I just know there's gonna be more **** though......
