Default Viper VS. Clifford alarms

I was wondering what the difference between these two companies are. I know DEI owns Clifford now, and the Viper 791xv looks the same as the Clifford Matrix 3.5RS.. so are there any differences between these two alarms? My friend told me Clifford is superior because they use a different kind of technology. Any input?

PS. search did not come up with anything. Thanks

While DEI bought out Clifford a while back. IMO the Clifford stuff was always more inovative. I think DEI bought clifford just to get there technology.

just get an ebay alarm =P, who wants their alarm going off every 10 seconds to someoen walking next to their car? alarms arent good for anything anyways. ony thing an alarm is good for imo is the flashing light. that alone will scare 99% of most theives away, but that 1% wont care if u have an alarm or not, they will still get your stuff unless you have other security measures.

True to an extent, an alarm is a theft Deterrent, not a Theft Preventative. It's done to hopefully scare someone from trying to steal the car or the things inside or make it very difficult is someone does try to steal something.

And back on topic:
...are there any major Alarm Manufacturers that DEI hasn’t bought yet except APS and Alpine?

</TD></TR></TABLE>Ditto the top, and Alpine no longer makes alarms, will soon introduce, [I understand] there new line of GPS based alarms, DEI doesn't own UNGO, Clarion does, or Compustar and the only other brand name one I can think of is AutoPage 94

With fewer manufacturers expect prices to go up.
