after a very spirited mountain session, my brakes squeek. they were fine before and noticed a bit of noise after the run and having let them cool down. it got pretty bad... then we had a week of rain, now it's not so LOUD, but still there.
anything i can do? there's plenty of pad left all the way around ..
is it the pad surface or do i just need to add more anti-squeek junk? i know the brakes got pretty hot on that moutain run. can that break down the anti-squeek, assuming there was some?

to be honest, i have no clue. i'm gonna assume they are not the OEM pads.. nobody ever replaces brake pads with OEM. they aren't colored like some after-market pads.. they LOOK normal. i bought the car used, so i have no clue what the guy put on.
would it make a difference as to why the were fine before the mountain run and squeeking after?

I did the same thing when I got my Del Sol, my brakes sqeeked off and on for about a year before the pads wore down and it was time to change them.
I never had any problem stopping though. Also the pads were what was on the car when I bought it. They were absolutly horrible, literealy I would get brake fade slowing down while getting off the freeway.

wow. mine aren't that bad. they stop just fine.. just squeek. i also have about 3/16-1/4" of pad left all the way around.. i'm just thinking that the heat from my drive may have damaged the material. eh. i bought cobalt/axxis pads, i'll just throw them on and save these as back up for an emergency..

have a shop re-surface the rotors and scuff the pads slightly with sand paper. Or if your going to install some different pads still have someone re-surface the rotors. You've probaly caused hot spots on your rotors and over heated the pads, basically if you could imagine glass on glass.
