does the a6 dist. fit properly? i think the dist. from a 92 vx would work? it's motor is basically the equivalent u.s. motor to the d15b

no the a6 dont work properly and if the timing is off and running rich, does gas and black smoke comes out to be that problem, because of the a6 dizzy? Gas mileage sucks

are you using the a6 intake manifold or the 15b? your dist. and injectors need to match your ecu. that is an obd1 motor that's supposed to run off of a p28 ecu or a hondata or zdyne. get your timing correct fist. that dist. will work on that motor. i'm running an a6 dist. on a z6... well i was till it blew up yesterday, anyway i had to modify the legs with a dremel in order to get the dist. to mount and have timing adjustability. i'll go take some pics and get them up so you can see how i did it.

I'm using the a6 intake manifold with the a6 injectors, and yes my stock ecu and dizzy. Car running very rich and gas sucks and is theres any problems i should check for? can it be the timing?

sorry about your motor what happen to it?

get that timing straightened out first. i've got a link to a thread that shows how i did it. it's highly ghetto but it works.
as for my motor we were at the track yesterday and after about 6 laps i noticed the temp. climbing so i pull in and see my coolant resivoir is open and i'm losing water. i let it cool down and put water back in. go back out and begin to hear a slight chatter. by the time i got back to the paddock it was clanking a little worse. called it a day and tried to limp it home. i made it about 10 miles before it began to lose compression and was banging like bad so i pulled it over and called my buddy and the pregnant wife and i sat under a tree for 3 1/2 hours while he sourced a tow dolly. cars home now and i never threw the rod but i think in all the heat the oil thinned out and i spun a bearing. at least that's what it sounds like. hav'nt got into it yet. i gotta get a new one though. it was a z6 that i only paid 50$ for and i got 6 track events and about 2 years of daily driving from it so i'm sad to see it go but it served me well. i'll try to find that thread for you.

if you just woller out that top hole some the bolt will go in without having to cut that chunk out. if you look at the 2nd set of pics in that thread, that's mine. the other guys work is alot cleaner. but yeah your timing is way off.

i would start there. take all the bolts out and just hold the dist. with your hand. get some one to start the car then adjust it. ideally you need a timing light but you can get it close enough by ear. at least better than what you have now. do you have a dremel or something you can widen that hole with. if so then you can at least get that top bolt in.

you use it to verify that the #1 plug is firing when just before the #1 cylinder hits tdc. it's a light that flashes and you point it at the crank pulley sight on the timing cover. when it lights you should be able to see the timing marks on your crank pulley line up in the sight. one mark alone is tdc and there is a set of three marks that are 18 deg. +/- 2 deg. before tdc. the light should be lighting these marks. you can usually rent one at autozone.

holy **** i just saw your sig. do you ship those motors or local only? if you ship, do you still have a d15b available? that's really going to be the simplest for me because i don't have time to wait for a z6 and the d15b will drop right in no wiring for me . i'm just shopping right now.

yeah i would'nt drive it too much like that. the unburned fuel will go into the cat and burn there and melt the catalyst. like i said you don't need the light. especially since yours is way off. get that top leg to line up and get it bolted down. it should improve somewhat. i'll keep in touch with you about the motor. i'm going to look locally first. do you have any idea what shipping would be to houston 77373?
