Default d16z6/d16y8 block w/ d16a6 head

I was wondering if this will work and if i can retain my ECU? I Guess you can call it a "reverse mini-me". I want to do this cause my piston rings are going bad on my a6 block and i want to find a newer replacement. Will I need to tweak my dizzy for this kinda swap? What extra wires will need to be hooked up to the Z6 or Y8 block?

it'll work...but if you're going to go to the trouble of swapping, may as well keep the vtec head on there. you can retain your stock ecu and have a separate means for vtec operation....not the best setup but it certainly works. you'll have to mod the distributor for the z6, but not the y8....if you use the vtec head. if you keep your stock head, no modding....

if your piston rings are startin to go in the a6, u might want to consider gettin some d16a1 pistons (higher compression pistons due to higher dome). they're really not that much from acura..$30 a piece or something i cant even remember. you will def feel a difference with those in there. put a y8 headgasket on if u want to raise the compression a bit further. that with the a6 head will be a nice setup.
