HELP!!!!!! WIRING NEW MOTOR!!!
ok
I am putting a jdm b16a2/3 in my 1996 del sol, and my jap spec alternator wont wire up
it has 4 wires, and i suspect one to be a load sensor!!
what do i do, because the US harness doesnt have the 4 wires????
OH WOE IS ME!!!
plus buddy who sold me the motor didnt give me all the mounts!

both alternators should be four wire style. You may need the '96+ B series alternator. I've yet to determine exactly but I think they changed alternator plug styles when they switched the motors from obd-1 to obd-2. If you know someone with a '96+ car you can check that out on, that would be my first guess. On a friends car we had to weld up the bracket from his original engine distributor and put the original distrbutor in the car and not the one that came with the motor. Once we did that it worked fine even though it looks ghetto.

they changed the alternator plug on the OBD II models for some dumb reason.
What you could do is swap the pigtail. Just make sure that you get the wires correct. Each alternator is labled with C, G, L, F on the ID tag with a diagram of the plug. They are both four wire plugs. I just looked at three of them......one from an OBD II Civic, one from an OBD II Si, and a JDM B16A and they all have the same markings. I haven't tried to bolt up the OBD II alternator on the the JDM motor so I can't tell you if that fits. Besides I don't know if they are the exact same amperage. The JDM alternator looks much beafier though.
