Exhaust horsepower loss
Okay so I have apexi n1 piping with a jeg's high flow cat welded in, aluminum piping clamped on at the axel going to an obx muffler because my n1 muffer scraped so much it broke apart.. It looks horrible now and I want to put my stock DX pea shooter exhaust back on just because of that. How much power will I lose? Will such thin piping be bad for the engine in any way? I've got a stock b16b engine with a shorty intake.
It shouldn't make too much more of a restriction for the B16 than it did for your stock B7, the difference is only .1 liters, but the B16 probably breathes a lot better than the B7 too. I'd just keep the exhaust how it is now, better flow<looks IMO, but it's your choice. What looks so horrible about it if you have another muffler on there?

I'm asking because I can't afford a new exhaust right now, and the whole Summer thing is coming up. The muffler on there now is off a 92-95 coupe, that's why it's so long. I couldn't clamp it on any further forward because the control arm is right there.

Seriously. Is that a difficult thing for you to do? You can even rattle-can the canister black to make it less BRING BRING!!!

Seriously? If you have a stock DX exhaust, put that on NOW until you can replace that ugly *** OBX muffler! Or at least chop off the tip... Either way, putting on the stock exhaust won't damage your motor in any way, you'll just be slower, but probably not by too much.
BTW: When the guy above said 'B7' engine, i'm sure he was referring to the stock Dx motor, which is a D15B7.

nice... i'd probably back into too much **** with it out like that... i know where the back of my car is... but with that thing sticking out an extra 6"... i'm bound to leave an exhaust tip impression in someone elses bumper
I've already got a markered line drawn around where I'm going to cut it, but it points downward at like a 30 degree angle and looks ******* retarded from the side. Every time I drive by other people I feel all embarassed..
