F20 in EF Hatch?
I searched F20 and it gave me like 1 result, basically I'm asking this because my friend has an old F20 engine in his garage that he said I could have if I wanted to. Well If its possible to put it in without major $ and major modification, hell I'll do it, let me know what you guys think.

LoL, yah, Talon ain't going anywhere, the civic is just my daily beater, I figured I could try to make it a lil peppier for ***** and giggles. Talon = 16 mpg , 225 mpt , 35 to fill up with premium , civic = 35 mpg, 400 mpt, 20 to fill up with 87
Talk to Busimoto, he ran the fastest all motor[possibly non-VTEC] time in a hatch with an F20B I believe.
1. you can use any H22 parts on a F20B
2. F20B parts are interchangeable with H22's
3. F20B will fit into an EG with an H22 bolt-in kit
All an F20B is, is a destroked H22 engine to 2.0L, with a purply-blue color valve cover and an engine stamped w/ "F20B" rather than "H22A". This motor is found in the JDM SiR 94-97 accord body.

I don't think that was an F20B more like an F22B. The F22B is out of a regular accord. The F20B is out of the Accord Euro R which is along the same lines as an H22 as far as power but the F22 and the H22 are mostly interchangable as far as parts go. I've even seen a thread on here somewhere of a guy who swapped an H22 DOHC head onto a F22 SOHC block which was ****** cool if you ask me.

if its an old accord motor i wouldnt bother.
the newer ones are better but still, there are other engines that actually have mounts for these cars that make similar power numbers.

The engine is out of an early 90's late 80's Prelude Si , I thought it was called an F20 because its a 2.0 non-vtec I thought. I'm not sure the exact code, let me know guys.

it sounds like you like the civic because of the gas milage. keep it the way it is then.

I got it for a few reasons, yes its cheaper on gas, and that is one good thing, but even if I mod it, its still going to be good on gas vs the DSM, that and I do most of the extensive work on my DSM which downs the car for several days, even weeks, so I need another car to drive when the DSM Breaks or is being worked on. I just want to make the Civic a lil peppier, and it's something new to me, I've never worked on a honda before, and it would be a fun learning experience.
Back to cost, this engine that I'm getting is FREE so i dont see how it would be cheaper than a b16, if I'm going to spend money on a motor, im going to get an h22, or a b18b1 and turbo it. I dont think i'd go for the b16 unless it was a really good deal.
