Default NEWBIE O2 SENSOR QUESTION

I got a 1994 accord EX and my CHECK ENGINE light came on and stayed on about a week ago. I did the self diagnostic (jump the data link connector) and it gave me a code #1 ( the light just stayed on so i guessed that that is a "1") the o2 sensor

So my questions areit fairly simple to replace myself?

should i bother to test the one that's there now?

is there just one O2 sensor is is there another one too?

are aftermarket ones like NGK an exact fit or do you have to modify it first?

thanks in advanced!

o2 sensor is fairy painless to replace

you'll need to put the car on jackstand, you'll need a o2 sensor socket(which you could rent for free in autozone) to remove the old unit, clean the thread, grease it up with anti-seize and undo all the step above.

there's only one oxygen sensor for your accord.

there's two type of aftermarket oxygen sensor, the more expensive one comes like a clip(like OE sensor from honda), the cheaper one(20-15percent cheaper) you only comes with wires, so you'll need to cut the clips from the old unit and solder the new wire.

ngk is a better choice than bosch, alot of 6th gen owner complaint about the bosch stuff because the computer still throws a CEL(40 heater circuit) with the new sensor. the good news? you don't have to worry about it, because you have a obd1 car
