driver's side door won't unlock.. please help
i hit my keyless entry and the alarm disengages but the doors won't unlock. i have to use my key to get in. i originally thought it was something wrong with my clifford matrix alarm/keyless but all wires are connected correctly. when i hit the lock button the passenger lock on the door panel flips out, but then quickly closes while the drives side lock looks like it's trying to open, but can't. i currently have the drives door panel off.. so i'm not to sure where to go from here. i already checked the fuse under the steering colum and thats fine.. is there another one under the hood?? this sucks.. please help!
I can't help you, as my car has been doing this for 2 years. It's annyoing as hell but I haven't been able to fix it either.
Sometimes, right after I unlock it, it locks itself and I have to unlock it and quickly lift the handle before it locks itself again. I love playing this game with my car - unlock-lock-unlock-lock-unlock/hold key and lift handle.
Sometimes it won't unlck the passenger door.
If I get out of the car while it's running and close the door, there's a good chance the car will lock itself with my keys inside. I now have a habit of putting my window down halfway to avoid this at a gas station or anywhere else.
Often, the unlock button on the inside won't unlock the drivers door, and the manual switch is incredibly difficult to manually switch it. When I do switch it, sometimes it locks back on itself. It's at this point I think my car is plotting to kill me and just testing out the circuit for when it wants to trap me in the car.
I haven't figured it out, mostly because I am to lazy to try and track it down. Electrical things confuse me.

sounds like we have to same problem.. but i am **** as hell about my car & want this fixed.. now! heh.. anyone else??
alright well i just fixed it... i don't know why but this worked: i pushed the actual lock in the door (the white part that hooks to the metal bar in the door jam) down and then closed the door. i hit my keypad and now everything works as normal.. weird ****.

This honestly sounds like a Lock relay.
A relay uses electromagnetic energy arround a little coil to open and close a circut.
Being that the switch isnt physically being switched on or off, the relay might be opening/closeing on its own. I have actually seen this happen, where door locks will lock, unlock, lock, unlock.

well your automatic doorlocks are meant to do that but only when the door is open, like if one of your doors is open and you push lock, it will unlock, or vice-versa, i guess its a security feature to keep you from locking your keys in if you hit the button on accident. maybe vtecluder97 is onto something with the whole relay thing, maybe a relay has gone bad that has something to do with that part of your locks.
Yeah, I had the same problem on my 98 Ls, but I did manage to fix it. I'm not sure if you have the same problem mine did, but here's what i had to do. The interior mechanical locking switch was binding and not allowing the electric door lock to unlock the door, so I took off the doorpanel and completely removed the metal connecting rod from the locking mechanism to the mechanical locking lever. You can't lock the door manually from the inside anymore... but the electric lock is right there anyway so no biggie. Hope that helps you.
