Thinking about getting a 2005 Suzuki gsxr 1000.
Well I have been looking into it and I really like the new 1000. . . . . . Called around best price I could find was 10,400 before tax and tag. . . I am sure if I went there I could haggle down a little. I was kinda thinking about waiting awhile like a couple of months or so to see some test results. Tell me what you think and how you feel about the bike.
well not really to negotiable. I dont mind that much. . . . . the Suzuki dealership told me I would have to wait about 1 month or so and the other place told me 1 week but that I would have to pay MSRP 10,800. I might just buy a used one like 6months old and save liek 1000 bucks. But is it worth it just to save 1000.00??

Go to Gixxer.com and read around. Those guys there can likely tell you where you can save about $1000. Not only that, but if you buy out of state, you may avoid taxes. Then when you register it in your state, you may be able to tell a small fib about the price you paid for it.

I wouldn't suggest fibbing about the price of a new bike with 0 miles on it.
Even if you do get away with it at the DMV you might get fucked if you ever need insurance to pay up.

i say fork out the extra $1K and get it brand new
$1,000 aint **** if you're gonna finance anyways...different story if you're gonna pay it all in cash, then that $1,000 could be used for some goodies

I couldn't disagree more. I think it looks brutally purposeful. I really like how the tail section flares out from being so skinny at the seat, too. Really curvy and luscious.
I am loving the exhaust pipe too. I think the whole thing just looks awesome. I have never seen one in person though. Perhaps it's still too early in the season.

i just got back from my local dealer they have a 05 yellow black gixxer 1000, it looks pretty good, a little wierd but i think i like it, not feeling the pipe and its got a big ***, but it looks pretty mean in person
salesman told me hr could do 10,200 out the door
i dont know if it matters, but to be elgiable for liablity insurance(at least in md) you need to keep total amount borrowed under 10 grand

I dont plan on borrowing 10,000 so it wouldnt matter to me. . . . . I took that pic about a week ago in south beach. . . . the bike is sharp and IMO models what the newer bikes are going to look like. . . . The tail sort of resembles the new R1.
I have noticed a trend towards tails getting wider and flatter. The new 636 is a good example but this just takes it to a new level.
In a few years, the bikes with the long, skinny tapered tails (R6 for example) will probably look dated, as more and more bikes start to look like Ducatis.

now those new 636 are awsome looking bikes. i hope they dont change the 600/ 750 gsxr to that style, i think the current style(04,05 750) is the best looking gsxr they ever made.

Well, if you can save $1000 by taking a full Saturday to hope a bus to somewhere and pick up the bike and ride it back....well, giving a full day to save $1000 is worth it to me.

By the time you buy it out of state and drive it back, it will have a few miles on it. Therefore, it will have miles on it proor to being titled anyway. Just tell them that you got it for $8400 because it was a demo rider bike that the dealer was selling at a discount.

$1000 is even more if you finance. When buying a bike, people don't think about how much money they are going to lose as it depreciates. Saving $1000 up front by buying a bike with a couple thousand miles on it will really help out the loss you take when you sell it. I bought a 6month old GXSR 1000 with 1600 miles on it for $7500. I've had it a year and could still sell for that. If I had bought new, I'd be about $1700 nder in depreciation so far.
Personally, I don't like the seat of the new ones. It looks too much like a knee board or something...too wide. The exhaust is absolutely terrible too. If I bought one, I'd keep it in the garage till I got a better looking exhaust for it. The only advantage is that all the other new bikes have undertail pipes that look like an ******* and takes up your "trunk" space.
