b16 short shifter question
I have a b16 in a 89crx si and so of course i have b series linkage but i want a skunk 2 integra shifter with the dual bend. do i need to get that for an integra or a crx with the linkage i have will a crx fit right?

i have a 94+ skunk2 duel bend short shifter.
it works fine and if you look on skunk2's website they are the same part number anyhow.
by the way, i higly recommend using skunk2's mating shift ****, the heavy feel adds to the throw when shifting, but yes 94+ integra short shifter will work.
great product

i forgot to mention that i do have a b16 swap as well, but my linkage system is custom made, but still it doesn't make any difference though however, so it still will work nevertheless b-cuz the application fits 90-2000 civic and del sol and 94-01 integra's.
i just checked the site right now, but they took off the 94-01 integra, but it was up there before, but i can guarentee it will work.

A customer brought in a shifter to have it put on his b16 and the shifter would not fit, we had to modify the shifter part by cutting a piece of metal off the shifter rod. I think it was for a 2000 si, not sure though.
They don't really help you shift "faster and cooler" and all of that crap.
I haven't driven a car whose synchros I couldn't outshift on a stock shifter. Short throws rape synchros consistently and make you miss shifts more often than you used to.
Besides, the need for shifting that quickly is rare and especially rough on the tranny. If you wanna shift faster, just do it. Why waste the money when you can just beat off and get the muscle to flick it quicker
Also, I've driven a few cars with short shifters. I realized I shift a bit slower, have a harder time getting it into gear, grind gears and miss shifts in them more often than not. I thought about it and because your arm is elongated your muscles are stretched more. When muscles are stretched or clenched, they obviously aren't as lucid as they could be and the action becomes stiffer and more difficult to accomplish. Also, this can make it more difficult to accurately move your hand to shift properly resulting in missed shifts, shifting to the wrong gear, grinds, synchro damage etc.. etc..
All you have to do is gain some coordiantion and you have your own, learned short shifter. Don't waste your money, your tranny hates them.

Short shifters don't kill transmissions
Drivers kill transmissions

b&m kicks *** get the whole one with the mount it feels like an s2000 shifter, 88-91crx/civic and 90-93 integra shifters are the same 92-95 civic and 94 up integra shifters are wider on the bottom most aftermarket shifters come with different size spacers for the bottom so they can fit both applications, so see if skunk 2 is like that or they make specific ones, i would recommend a b&m though it is super smooth, i had one of those $2.99 ones off ebay the bearings went after like 2 months and it almost broke in half and it was hard to get in 3rd and 5th with it, b+m is way better
the skunk2 duel bend will not give you a short shifter look, its actually sits the same height as if you had your stock shifter, in the EF that is. however, its a short throw shifter. so you don't have to throw as far.
you can have a short throw or a stock shifter, you can still mis-shift.
i don't see how you can shift fast in a stock and use the same theory in a short throw damage yoru synchros??
it makes no sense. either way, the theory is same. "clutch, gear, release"
no different than that. so how could a short damage synchro's faster.
-> imo. user problems.
anybody can mis-shift, nobody is perfect. "**** happens"
