Can 22x8x13 slicks be mounted on a 5.5" wide rim?
On Mickey Thompson's site, it lists thatthe 20x8x14 slick should be mounted on a 6" wide rim...and I know alot of people who run them like that.
Can a 5.5" or 6" wide rim also be used for a 22x8 slick?

think about it. Rim size directly dictates contact patch shape.
A 22x8x13 inch slick on a 13x8 rim will have a better contact patch than a 22x8 on a 13x5.5. When you mount the slick on it, the beads will be pulled in so far you won't even get the full contact patch on the ground. It may not be visible, but it will definately limit the amount of traction you can achieve. This is without even touching the safety issue of running 110mph with a tire set up that way ... no thanks

The thing is..I see ALOT of people running 20x8 slicks on stock HX rims..which are 5.5" wide and they have no problems with them. Why would 22x8 be any different?

Well, it's up to you. Personally I would never run it that way. VaporTrail hit it right on the head. but if you need to find out for yourself go ahead. On a set of proper slicks the car drives straight as an arrow even at 120 mph and up. I've run on questionable slicks before and it was scary.
