Default GSR secondary butterflies

Hey guys I'm sorry if this is another repeat but i did not find any answers to my question. Is there any way to make sure that my IAB system is functioning properly?

it should remain open when the car is off, due to no vacum....when you start the car, vacum should cause it to close untill about 5,600rpm then it will open...

one way to test is open that vtec up on the road.

actually you can see the spring open and close.

you will feel it pull...one other way to test is to just unplug the rubber hose that connects to the sec.butterfly. pump/suction thing.

if you unplug it you will definately know that it is not working(you get no low end torque at all, due to it remaining open all the time)...don't worry, you can drive it like that and it will not throw a check engine light.

If you have a intake on your car and listen very carefully around 5,600rpms you can her the secondaires open.

No.Then the only why to tell is disconnect the vacuum hose and take it for a drive and then come back and connect it and then take it for another drive and compare the difference.

you would def. hear them open if you are driving.. especially in 3rd or 4th gear. just reving that high in neutral or in 1st while driving won't make a very distinct sound when they open.

It's not this complicated, people. Pop your hood with the engine running and rev it manually while you look at the butterfly solenoid. You will clearly see it move when you hit the necessary rpms and then slowly close back up when you let off.
