h22a with type-s cams?
hey, I just recently swapped my h23 to an h22a and was lookin at cams on ebay and came across some prelude type-s stock cams for pretty cheap, prolly about $200 after shipping, do you guys think this would be a good buy or is it worth it to just put out the extra cash and go with the OBX stage 1's, I plan on going turbo in a couple months if that makes any difference...
first off.... obx blowes. read up on some threads, search on it im sure youll find what you want. also, you need to know your power goals. how much boost do you plan on running? there are other factors that play a part
yeah, im not a fan of OBX but id never really heard anything about their cams, I figured maybe the stock type-s cams might make a little more power and still be ok for boost. for now, I dont really have a power goal, I just want to boost the car first, prolly 6-8 pounds, furthur down the road, I plan on building the motor to handle 20+psi, my hp goal for the future is 600 though.

im going of other products OBX made. my friend had a header by them, the gains (Barely any) he got were horrible and the header cracked after about 4 months. a year or so ago i bought a hi flo cat from them, yes this was before i knew **** about anything, and the model specifically for my car, was 2 inches short, and the cat/other piping on thecar at the time was stock, i only had axle back exhaust. just going off past experiences. if your goal is 600, GOOD LUCK

How in the flying hell could you compare a header design to a cam design ?
They probably modled the header after the OEM unit which incase you havent noticed sucks *** to begin with. They took skunk2 cams and copied them. So that means skunk2 threw all that money for R&D to build a **** cam right ? Not OBX's or anyone elses fault your a moron.
If i were you, id start saving for those darton or whichever sleeves you have chosen. screw the head, you need to build the bottom end.

If you are looking for 600+ whp, he's dead on. Don't waste your time with the cams, built a bullet proof block.

yeah, dont worry about the bottom end, it WILL be done correctly and bulletproofed, whether it be Benson or Darton sleeved, the bottom end is my main priority and wil be taken care of. but for now, I'm just lookin for a little more power. I'm not sure if I can make 600+ on the type-s cams but for now, do you guys think theyll be a good buy?

type SH bro your a ******* jackass, i said i wouldnt trust OBX as far as reliablility, because 2 of their other products were ****. Read my post closely, it says "im going off other products OBX makes". Your always talkin **** man, state your opinion but dont be such a ****** about it...
Everything I've ever seen from OBX looks cheap as hell. I don't know if they really are reliable products or not, but I wouldn't trust them to build something to go inside my motor. If a bolt on is shitty quality, oh well, you're out the money you spent on it. If an engine internal is shitty quality, you're fucked.
Your just child. You cant make an assumption like that because "you boy's header sucked" that has absolutely nothing to do with their cam production. I never said they had the best or the worst product, just saying you cannot compare apples to oranges. And do you think you are a big man because you can curse at me ? Now you are just cluttering this thread with your mindless biased opinions. Why dont you grow up or get the **** out.
To the original poster, there would really be no point in putting in Type S cams or OBX as they were designed for N/A and higher compression. Id stick with the OEM cams and spend your money elsewhere ( fuel system,BOV, wastegate, something towards your goal) and maybe eventually go with a custom ground turbo cam.

lol ok big boy, ill let you run your hard mouth here on honda-tech. im sorry, this is all my fault
. Hope you have your I card out for internet thuggin. And once again, your missing the point. Dreams190, typeSH is actually right about the whole cam turbo deal. you dont really need cams unless you plan on going BIG power, but do you really know what all it takes to get a car to 600 whp? your talking a lot of money here... do some research...

I think you are talking about my cams that were on eBay. The guy that won does not sound like he is going to come through. I needed that money for my new retainers

Actually it seems you were the one running your ball-washer on a subject you were ignorant on. Had YOU searched, as you recommended him to do, you would have seen that their cams and LSD's, and even their intake manifolds, were of great quality compared to their older products.
Quit talkin like a little bad-*** wannabe kid, and stick by your own advice.

Just like the other guys have said, definately build the bottom end. That's what I'm doing. I'm basically leaving the head stock. Tyler H made 600+ whp with a stock head if I remember correctly.
im not a bad *** wannabe kid, its just that wherever i go i get this 98typeSH talkin **** to me. if you disagree with what im saying, dont sit there and be a dick head about it, just tell me.
ludeykrus, yea i could have searched, but like i said i had 2 first hand experiences with them. maybe 2 totally different parts but if a company makes one item shitty, what would lead me to want another one of their products?
all this bitching is gay, my bad if you dont agree or like what im sayin

Beats the hell out of $650 - $700 for aftermarket that may make 5-10 more hp.
