Where to mount 3 gallon fuel cell in Hot Rod class crx
will the ndra rules allow to mount a 3 gallon fuel cell inside the cab of a race car. Due to space issues we have no room to put a fuel cell anywhere inside the engine bay of the crx. Last season we were all-motor 2.0 with TWM itbs the fuel cell was mounted against the fire wall. This year we have switched to turbo and 2.5'' intercooler piping forced to move the fuel cell. we also had to move the battery due to new 15 inch welds & 26'' slicks. So now we have a fuel cell and a battery that needs to be place some where on the car. We were thinking inside the passenger side mounted next to the roll cage with the fuel pump mounted on the floor. need your opinons or pictures of setups. I will get pictures up later.
You can have a fuel cell made for you just make a template. Geoff at Full-Race can TIG weld one for you. Otherwise you can buy one from Moroso that they did for us and our DA (92 Integra). The DA and CRX have close to the same amount of room under the hood. Go to the Moroso website and look under the "Top Secret" parts tab. You will see a pic of a fuel cell that can be mounted against the firewall near the passenger strut tower.
Just do what I do, conform to the NHRA rulebook. It is the strickest one out there. If you can pass their inspection, NOPI, BOTI, IDRC will be no problem.

Why not switch to a 1 gallon so you are not limited to space? I don't know if this will ever be driven on the streets but from the sounds of it, most likely not. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Pro-Am 1934 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
