Who has a Spec clutch???
Who has a Spec stage 2 clutch on their B series swap CrX?? How does it feel/grip, any info on this clutch would help me decide if I should buy it thanks in advanced. http://nipponpower.com/drivetrain/clutch/spec.html click/scroll down
well sortof a bump, i installed one on a 200sx the other day, with a cable clutch, and it was almost like stock, and i drove in the break in period, so i didnt try to see how well it gripped....
I had one in my 91 eclipse GS-T - very smooth engagement. Not having heard of them either, I was skeptical but after trying them out, I'm sold on their clutches. It had the slightest amount of chatter when cold. Never slipped on me. (I ran 18psi at most) I heard kevlar can't take much heat but I never had a problem with it. With the kevlar material, the break in period is a lot longer (twice..) and you really have to baby it. The cool thing was the friction material is like patches of chamois. Nice and soft. I couldn't believe it was the friction material until I put it in and it worked.....worked great in fact. I heartily recomend it and will be putting it in my current car.

I had a Spec Stage 2, it was complete ****, it was okay N/A, then i went turbo and it started slipping badly, it's supposed to be able to take 300ft/lbs, i was running maybe 180ft/lbs. I removed it and it was still in good condition, i'm not the only one having problems with these clutches, i suggest staying away. If you want a good cheap clutch, check out "Competition Clutch", i'm running their sprung Stage 5 and i love it.
