HELP!!! How can i patch a radiator hose temporarily!!!
OK, so i gotta be somewhere in 2 hours! My radiator hose from the radiator going to the head is very weak. I felt underneath the hose & all feels normal except in one spot..it is COMPLETLEY soggy! & a little fluid is leaking out, not dripping by any means, but it has leaked on my tranny a bit already...& im getting it fixed Saturday but thats beside the point. I need some kind of temporary patch JUST IN CASE! I was thinking a paper towl wrapped in duct tape? But others say to just leave it be... what should I do b/c I have to be somewhere thats 2 miles away in 2 hours & its pouring outside!!!! I have no other means of transportation.
At autozone, kragen, etc...you can find some black tape that is made for hose repair. It will form a good enough bond to fix the leak. Look for edelbrock brand tape....it will be labeled for hose repair. It will hold up good enough until you can replace the hose
oh yeah..if it is leaking a little bit when the car is cold, you can bet it will be spraying out when the car is hot. Check your radiator fluid level to make sure you haven't lost all your coolant all ready
