Default b18c5 block with b16a head or a k20 type s motor in an ef

im kinda stuck right now. im not sure wut to put in my hatch right now. my car is a 91 si hatch with a b16a right now. which setup out of the b18c5 block with b16a head or a k20 type s motor will give make me faster. i would go lsvtec or crvtec but i want something more reliable. and im willing to to put down 6 to 7 g's on this project. so which is better.

6 or 7 thousand dollars most likely isn't going to get you the k20 so I would say the b18c5 block with the b16a head.

apples to oranges.

egg with K

ef with B

i still dont like the K in an EF. for clearance issues. sooner or later i will try it.

also i would wait til pricing goes down and the wave goes away a bit. motor is too much and the mounts/kit is too much. So i'll wait for motor/trans/ecu to be lowered and other people to make install kits to compete with other company prices..

i know it fits. but i dont want to be the R&D person on this high budget project. i'll step back and let someone drive daily and race it on weekends to give sight. In EF that is.

If you are getting a k20 type s for 2850 it is probably stolen. I am not saying it is stolen but that engine is worth much much more than that. B18c1 engines go for that much.

Interesting....I have never seen the k20 go for less than the price of a b18c1. If in fact they are selling it for that and it is not hot that is a steal.

b18c5. after you buy the engine, install parts (motor mounts, shift linkage, etc) and goodies, you'll be around the 7 grand mark. but if you had mucho $, i would say k series.
