quaife ?
Just put a quaife in my 96 gsr, before I lowered it off thejack stands I had a friend hold one wheel while I tried to spin the other and it moved with some resistance. This is normal I assume, could not pull it out of the garage because it was freaking snowing last night! Spring my ***.
Just to update the last post, I drove it today and it is $#@%^&* AWESOME! The quaife with thetype r rear sway bar and comptech tie bar made such a big differnce. I can actually accelerate heavy in and out of a turn with no pushing of the front end.
It took a total of about 12-15 hrs, it was pretty easy. I suggest a quaife over a itr tranny because the itr lsd is a clutch type. I like not having to think about diff clutch wear, als the quaife has a lifetime warranty even when raced!

WTF? have you ever seen an ITR LSD? they work just like a quaiffe, but they aren't as strong, so they won't take as much hp or traction. 250+whp+slicks=broken ITR LSD. but i don't have that much nor do i have slicks, so i'm okay.

i replaced the side bearings and races. I was lucky because the original shims ended up working out. The preload was still in spec, just a little tighter due to the new bearings.
I downloaded specs and instructions from alldata, its a program we have at work. There is a good article with pics in hondatech, just search.

I'm talking about instructions from Quaife, not H-T. I would have searched.

bullsh!t. they work EXACTLY the same way as your quaife. anyways, clutches have no effect on strength of the differential.

and my fav. from rotc, lt cdr roturmund's rule of holes:

i was told the itr was a clutch type from what i thought was a reputable source, but you seem pretty sure it's not, to be honest i really don't give a $%^*&. Happy motoring.
