Help 2 ITR Fellas Out...Please
I met up with someone from this board last night to determine if the noises we're hearing with our cars are normal. Everytime we release the clutch pedal to engage the gears, we hear this whirling/whooshing noise. This noise wasn't there when I first bought the car and that's the only reason why I'm concerned. Here are the steps that we took to replicate the noise.
1.) Put car in neutral and pull up hand brake
2.) Rev car up to 3000rpms
3.) Press in the clutch pedal
4.) Release clutch pedal.
The sound happens right when you start feeling pressure on the pedal and is gone by the time you have the pedal all the way down. When releasing the pedal, the sound comes back right before your completely have your foot off the pedal. If you guys don't mind testing this out when you have the time, I would appreciate it. I want to know if this sound is normal or not.

My clutch makes all sorts of noises....it has since day one....I have no problems with clutch engagement or clamping force. Even when friends ride in my car they wonder what certain noises are...I think its just because we have no sound deadening material and can hear evevything going on under our hoods.

How many miles do you have on your clutch? Like what was said earlier it could be your throw out bearing....maybe it could use some grease...but then again if you are going to drop your tranny, put a whole new clutch assembly in (also a lightened flywheel, maybe an ats 4.9 final drive
)

mine makes a smilar noise, it should be normal. no problems with engagement or slippage or anything else. i also hear it o my brother's S2K. Before I got my car, I asked him what it was on his car, he saidhe didn't know. Now I hear it on my car and figure it's just a Honda thing.
