Default Help 2 ITR Fellas Out...Please

I met up with someone from this board last night to determine if the noises we're hearing with our cars are normal. Everytime we release the clutch pedal to engage the gears, we hear this whirling/whooshing noise. This noise wasn't there when I first bought the car and that's the only reason why I'm concerned. Here are the steps that we took to replicate the noise.

1.) Put car in neutral and pull up hand brake

2.) Rev car up to 3000rpms

3.) Press in the clutch pedal

4.) Release clutch pedal.

The sound happens right when you start feeling pressure on the pedal and is gone by the time you have the pedal all the way down. When releasing the pedal, the sound comes back right before your completely have your foot off the pedal. If you guys don't mind testing this out when you have the time, I would appreciate it. I want to know if this sound is normal or not.

My clutch makes all sorts of noises....it has since day one....I have no problems with clutch engagement or clamping force. Even when friends ride in my car they wonder what certain noises are...I think its just because we have no sound deadening material and can hear evevything going on under our hoods.

See, that's where you car differs from mine. The sounds I hear weren't present when I first had the car. As far as I know, my car is working fine also but it never hurts to be precautious.

How many miles do you have on your clutch? Like what was said earlier it could be your throw out bearing....maybe it could use some grease...but then again if you are going to drop your tranny, put a whole new clutch assembly in (also a lightened flywheel, maybe an ats 4.9 final drive )

Oh, I will try what you described earlier and see if I can get my car to replicate the same noise you are hearing.

I had 16000miles when I first got my clutch, t/o bearing, and pressure plate replaced under warranty. 2000miles later, the sounds that went away after the warranty work are back and in full effect.

mine makes a smilar noise, it should be normal. no problems with engagement or slippage or anything else. i also hear it o my brother's S2K. Before I got my car, I asked him what it was on his car, he saidhe didn't know. Now I hear it on my car and figure it's just a Honda thing.

Whoever's going to drive their cars this weekend, please try the steps above to see if your car makes the same noise. THNX
