anyone have flooding problems with their prelude?
This recently started happening. Its been raining a lot lately in So Cali and when i would get into my car it would smell like wet clothes, so im like wtf?!
I check around in the car and dont see any wet spots. Then i check under the driver seat and its wet. So i jack up the car and look under and no cracks or holes. so i just dry up the carpet and thought nothign of it.
then today it gets really bad. I get into the car and go to school then when i get out i notice my jeans are wet!! ****! (just the back of my legs).... then i look down and notice my carpet in wet, now its all over the driver side floor mats not just under the seat. When i got home i park in the drive way and get out and look down and see the driver side back seat floor mat is covered with 1 inch or dirty *** water
. I have no ******* idea how that much water is getting in. anyone have else have this problem? or have any clue how water is getting in?
BTW my brother is having the same problem in his EK. we checked under both cars and no holes or cracks. my brother even took out his carpet and found nothing.

on a 4th gen? but its not coming from the sun roof its coming fron the ground. I heard about the 3rd gens having that problem, but it would come from the roof of the car.
My sister had the same problem - but it was in a GrandAm....i forget what the problem was...it was something with the water pump....hmm.....i forget...i will get back to you though.
its wet from under the pedals to the back floor mats or the back seat. this is only on the driver side not passenger.
Its just not wet its like a freakin lake. its was more then an inch at one point, but thats when i park in the drive way when the car is on a hill.

is there a crack/hole in ur firewall?
i had this problem, but it wasnt because of a crack or anything. it just poured soo badly when i was driving that in like 1 minute, it managed to flood the streets. it poured so bad.. i couldnt see anything and i had my windshield wipers on full blast. as soon as it would wipe there would be water there. it was impossible to see. i was driving like 10 mph too. and then i didnt notice water started to pile up on the street. the curbs were flooded over. so, all this water seeped into my car. glad i'm not NA and have CAI's. if not, i would of had a GREAT hydrolock story for u guys

I have the EXACT same thing in my 93!!! EXACTLY!!!!! the guy I bought the car from had the sunroof drains checked out, I even have the paperwork from it and that wasnt it. One kid told me that it's a hose that runs through the firewall thats clogged or somethin of that nature but I'm still not 100% sure. it used to do this to me a lot and then it stopped doing it unless it rained REALLY hard, still does...

maybe the weather stripping in your doors?
i noticed just recently in my 92 sometimes when i get in i'll rub up against the weather stripping and just push it back into place into it's grooves
either that or firewall leak or something. I had the problem where water would get into my trunk then into the backseat, but never what you've got.
I guess just hope it quits raining in so cal

Have you had the spare out of the trunk to check there's no water getting in from around your tail light seals or the trunk seal, if it gets in there it runs forward from your trunk into the passenger compartment when you hit the brakes ? Also you mention you park on a hill, try making sure the car front points downhill if possible as the sunroof drain tubes at the front of the roof seem to be able to get rid of water faster than the rear drain tubes.
its not the trunk. I checked everywhere in the car. the only place that is wet is from under the pedals to the back seats floor mats. I THINK it started from under the driver seat because before i only noticed it was wet under there, then i would drive and the water would move around.
Somewhere at the top of the centre console up from the gas pedal, there's a drain tube that should be attatched to the air conditioning condenser. Have you checked this tube hasn't come away from it's mounting on the condenser and that it's not blocked in any way ?
It's the drain tube number 14 on this diagram up near the driver footwell.
