Default 9sec Car, Do i need a certified welder for Cage???

I own a shop and have a pretty good welder in house but he is not certified. I am confident that he can throw some good enough welds but was wondering if he had to be certified to be run in the NHRA events.

Everything will be TIG'ed and to spec.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Corey Parrish

im sure as long he know whats hes doing and uses the right material and does the cage by the book i shouldnt see a problem getting the cage certified.. To be honest ive seen some real mickey mouse MIG stuff get certified so.. if your guy is decent at tig then you should be OK

the welder doesn't have to be certified, after the cage is complete, it has to be certified by a NHRA Tech. Brian
